The way we work in the future will be radically different. But there are still challenges to be overcome in supporting and managing the changes ahead as we move increasingly towards the “platform economy”. I touched on several of them in my recent speech at the Rethinking the Future of Work conference in Amsterdam, which I also want to share here.
In the 6th century B.C., the Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously said: “Everything flows, nothing stays the same”. It is one of the earliest recognition that constant change is an essential part of the human experience. However, change is something that many human beings tend to fear. Political dynamics are often driven by these feelings.
