Conference: Mind, brain, and artificial intelligence: What it means to be intelligent

Speakers: Ph.D. Candidates Rebecca Mossop & Thomas Hoppenheit

If we look at the popular discourse on artificial intelligence and its cinematic interpretations, dystopias of great dimensions become apparent: machines and programs know how to guide us, to deceive us, even to take over our reality for us.

But is this really true? For deception, betrayal, and plans, intelligence is needed, isn’t it? Can an AI do this? What it means to be intelligent thus becomes one of the central questions of our time.
